We had a great meeting tonight. The wonderful young ladies of the Northwoods WMU provided our meal for us. The menu was corn chowder, chili, beans and soup, with some delicious cornbread and sweet tea. It all tasted excellent.

I know because I had a taste of each :)

We finished up the book of Nahum with a reading of chapter three. Nahum is a very dark book. It is filled with the judgment and punishment of Nineveh. We noted that many of the books in the Bible that have words of punishment also include a word of mercy however that is not the case in Nahum. We thought that the book of Jonah should be read along side Nahum because it tells the story of God’s mercy and love for the people of Nineveh.

Thank you to the WMU for all their help in preparing our meal this week. We look forward to next week when we will start reading Habakkuk and Peachtree will be providing the meal.
